OccupationalTherapy
"Skills for the Job of Living"

  • Regaining function
  • Promoting independence
  • Preventing further disability & deformity

Every day countless people of all ages experience health problems or injuries that significantly affect their ability to manage their daily lives. With the help of occupational therapy (OT), many of these individuals can achieve or regain a high level of independence. When skill or strength cannot be developed or improved, OT offers creative solutions and resources for carrying out the person's daily tasks.

OT goals include:

  • promoting independence by regaining functions in daily activities
  • preventing further disability or deformities
  • maintaining wellness
  • Occupational Therapy is available in both inpatient and outpatient services.
  • SACH's OT department consist of a full-time Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) and a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L).

The major population is mid to older adults who experience health problems such as heart attacks, strokes, hip fractures, respiratory disorders, and generalized weakness due to a recent illness or surgery.
